Natural Diamond and Colored Gemstone Jewellery Report
An SGL Jewellery Report is a certificate for a finished jewellery piece. It includes every diamond and gemstone in the piece, along with the metal purity, total weight, and any hallmarking present. SGL identifies the stones before issuing a report, including whether diamonds are natural or lab-grown. It grades them using the same 4Cs as far as the setting allows. This gives jewellers and buyers more confidence in the quality and authenticity of the piece.
Our 25 labs across India (21 locations), Dubai, London, Dhaka and Kathmandu help jewellers and buyers get standard reports for every type of jewellery.

Grading a loose stone before it is set? See our Diamond Report or Lab-Grown Diamond Report. For lab-grown diamond jewellery, see Lab-Grown Jewellery Reports.
SGL tests every mounted diamond and gemstone using standard detection technology to confirm if it is natural, lab-grown or a simulant. A trained gemologist then visually checks the piece controlled, and any treatment detected is noted on the report. Grading is done without taking the piece apart, allowing heirlooms and complex designs to remain intact.

What You’re Protecting | Why It Matters to You |
|---|---|
Stone Authenticity
| A mounted diamond can look natural without testing, but a certified report confirms what is actually set in your piece.
|
Metal Purity
| Hallmarking shows the gold purity, while a jewellery report verifies it separately along with the stones.
|
Fair Pricing
| Jewellery prices depend on stone quality and metal purity together. A certified report helps buyers avoid paying too much for a piece that isn’t as claimed.
|
Resale & Insurance
| Jewellers, insurers and resale buyers use a certified report to confirm what hey are valuing. An SGL certificate makes this simple.
